Where Material Meets the Hand
MADERA began with a fascination for exceptional timber — not simply for its rarity, but for the character held within every grain, colour, and natural imperfection. Each piece begins with listening to the material, understanding its possibilities, and allowing form to emerge slowly through the hand of the maker.
A Dialogue With the Material
Exotic timber is never simply a raw material. Its grain, density, colour and natural irregularities influence every decision. Rather than forcing the wood toward a predetermined shape, the making process becomes a conversation — observing what the material reveals and allowing proportion, curve and surface to develop around its individual character.
