THE BEGINNING
From Material to Meaning
RA Creations began with a simple fascination: the transformation of raw wood into form.
What started as an exploration of the lathe gradually became a deeper study of proportion, balance, grain, and restraint. Each piece of timber presented its own possibilities — and its own limits. Learning to work within those limits became as important as learning the tools themselves.
The journey developed through years of practice and study, beginning in Egypt and continuing through further training in the United Kingdom. Different workshops, teachers, and traditions refined the technique, but the central idea remained unchanged: the material should never be forced into becoming something it is not.
Today, that principle sits at the heart of RA Creations. Every object begins with observation — understanding the wood, considering its natural character, and allowing the final form to emerge through a dialogue between material, hand, and intention.
Learning Through the Hands
Craftsmanship is learned through repetition — through the countless small decisions made between the hand, the tool, and the material.
At the lathe, every movement matters. The angle of the tool, the pressure of the cut, and even the changing sound of the timber reveal what the material will allow.
With experience, technique becomes instinct — but the principle remains simple: remove only what is necessary and allow the character of the wood to remain visible

The evolution of RA Creations has been shaped not by a single school of thought, but by an ongoing process of learning.
Early training in Egyptian workshops established the foundations of the craft — an understanding of tools, timber, and the discipline required to work accurately by hand. Further study in the United Kingdom introduced a deeper exploration of proportion, balance, and the relationship between form and material.
These experiences gradually formed a personal approach to making: one that respects traditional craftsmanship while allowing each object to feel contemporary, restrained, and distinctly its own.
The learning continues with every piece. Because mastery in craft is never really an arrival — it is the willingness to keep observing, questioning, and refining.
